During the guided tour, we will explore the history of the "Corner House", which became the headquarters of the KGB in Riga during the Soviet occupation in Latvia.

The tours take place in historically authentic building. It is not accessible for people with walking disabilities.

The military forces of the Soviet Union occupied Latvia on 17 June 1940. The building at Brīvības and Stabu became the Latvian headquarters of the KGB. With time, the building gained the nickname “Corner House”. This was the place of interrogation and incarceration of Latvian citizens who the occupying regime considered to be enemies of the state. During Soviet occupation, the KGB initiated 48 000 criminal cases for “anti-Soviet offences”. When Latvia regained its independence, the KGB was declared a criminal organization and abolished in Latvia.

1. Can I change the ticket to another date/time?
According to our policy, it is not possible to change the date or time of purchased tickets.
2. Can the ticket be returned?
Purchased tickets cannot be exchanged or returned according to our policy.
3. I accidentally purchased a tour in Latvian instead of English. Can I exchange it for an English tour?
Unfortunately, purchased tickets cannot be exchanged or returned.
4. Is it possible to visit the museum without a guided tour? Where can I buy such a ticket?
You can visit the main exhibition of the museum freely during operating hours, from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM. It is not necessary to buy tickets in advance, though we appreciate donations to support the museum's mission.
Please note that the main exhibition does not include access to the prison cells and basement of the Corner House. These areas can only be visited with a guide by purchasing a ticket for a guided tour in Latvian or English.
5. Why are there no tickets available on a certain date?
The availability of tours depends on the museum's schedule for that day. It is possible that private tours have been booked at your preferred time, or that the guided tour is not available due to technical reasons. Tickets typically become available one month before the tour date. For group reservations, please contact the museum at kgb@okupacijasmuzejs.lv.
6. Can I bring a larger bag or umbrella when visiting the museum?
Unfortunately, we do not provide cloakroom or luggage storage services. However, visitors may leave outerwear and umbrellas in a designated area during their tour. Please note that the museum is not responsible for any lost or left belongings.
Large bags and suitcases are not permitted on the tours.
7. Can children participate in the guided tour?
Children up to the age of 12 can visit the museum's main exhibition. However, participation in the guided tour is only allowed for those aged 12 and above.
