On March 21, Matīss will present an intimate and colorful solo concert, featuring creative interpretations of various jazz and popular music melodies, as well as his original compositions and classical music arrangements for electric guitar. Improvisation is a crucial part of Matīss’ musical expression, making each concert a unique journey—sometimes taking the audience to well-known destinations and, at times, exploring the less-traveled outskirts.
Matīss Čudars is one of the most versatile and active musicians in Latvia, having received around 15 international awards for his guitar playing and compositions, including the Grand Music Award for the best concert in Latvia in 2022. He holds a master’s degree in composition from Yale University (USA) and is currently based in New York, where he actively performs. His trio album “Take Your Time” has received widespread recognition both in Latvia and abroad.
