THE INTRODUCTORY FORUM FOR GREEN ECONOMIC EXHIBITIONS

Introductory forum “Green Expo Riga 2018” is the first event to introduce green economy exhibitions in Latvia!

The main tasks of the Green Economy exhibitions will be to develop ideas for a green economy in Latvia, to promote their practical implementation in business, to educate and inform, and to create the image of Latvia as a green state to both the world and here in Latvia. The Green Economy exhibitions will be beneficial for inspiration, gathering information and for exchanging experiences:

* for everyone in Latvia, supporting their efforts to live greener every day;

* green economic policy makers, business managers and bio-economy specialists, foreign fund representatives;

* students, university lecturers, scientists, representatives of Latvian schools, representatives of the green start-up business communities

In the introductory forum on 21 November, we will explore:

* the main principles on which the development of a green economy in Latvia’s regions is based;

* how to create a higher added value for products of Latvia's green economy in various fields and sectors;

* how to make science and education innovations more practical. etc.

This year, the context of Latvian statehood development is also important – on 18 November 2018 Latvia will celebrate its centenary. Just three days after this celebration, supporters of a green economy in Latvia will discuss new goals to set for Latvia's sustainable growth and prosperity for the next 100 years.

The introductory forum will be held at the International Exhibition Centre Hall I. During the introductory forum, there will be a talk show where presentations and discussions will take place throughout the day – the unique content will be presented by leading experts in the field. Next to the stage will be a comfortable discussion area and exhibition stands, where each visitor will be able to assess represented companies, projects, institutions and green offers.

Planned participants of the inaugural forum: leading bio-economy companies in Latvia; representatives of government institutions / green economy policymakers; representatives of local governments with green investment development projects; potential investors in the green economy sectors; invited foreign specialists, organic farming representatives; forestry representatives; developers of passive housing projects; invited university specialists; developers of eco-design and green products.

Basic themes of Green Expo Riga 2018:

1. idea design and education;

2. production masters and innovations;

3. local and regional delivery;

4. conscious consumption and zero-waste lifestyle;

5. waste collection and sorting;

6. material recycling and bio-economy.

After the official programme of Green Expo Riga 2018 at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre, until late night, Radio Naba will host the Green Ideas Festival for young people – thematic interviews, talks, presentations and a lot of good music on the popular Radio NABA broadcast.
