The film is a diptych of two mega-cities – Moscow and Los Angeles. Each has a population that exceeds 10 million and both are characterized by vast urban spaces and monumental travel systems, organised in a grand scale plan. Camera moves through geometric lines created by urban planners and develops a pragmatic, frontal view akin to early cinema or theatre stages. It seeks the magical in the mundane, focusing our attention to simple human actions and static moments in an evermoving environment. This is the scene that would reveal itself to an alien who’s come to collect data about our civilisation while remaining invisible to us.
